Day 3

Before you all start thinking that every day last two days here, let me just specify that we are running a little behind on the blog, as we are just so busy...So to clarify it is now Friday, the 7th day, but I will be writing about the happenings of day 3...Confusing? Well it should be...

So day 3, Kieran had the bright idea not to turn on the alarm clock despite the fact that the wife had specifically mentioned that he should...typical for a good husband, you nod as if attentive, even if you haven't really heard what the wife has said or you weren't really listening, instead thinking about football, sport or something plain random. So there we were, 11 o'clock instead of 9 o'clock, with Kieran's ears ringing after the inevitable rollicking... First thing on the agenda was to go and visit a few apartments with one of the agents (as a little note, don't use agents here in Singapore if you are looking for an apartment, otherwise you end up with your agent negotiating with the owners agents and just seems like a very arduous procedure and you not only have the pleasure of paying 3 months of rent but also an extra month for the services rendered by the agent...more on that later). So having visited a few apartments, some better than others, but coming away generally disappointed we were finally able to pick up the laptop we had been chasing for the last 3 days...now I know you have all been dying to see it, so without further ado, the star of the show and the one that has made this all possible, Mister Samsung...

Not only the PC, or should I call 'him' Samsung, was picked up...but the famous Singapore shopping bug struck again. With the aim to only buy a PC, we ended up coming home with 4 pairs of shoes (and some other clothing items for madame)...3 for the missus and one for yours truly.

Check out the wife's flashy pink and black runners

Yep, those red bad-boys are indeed male shoes believe it or not

Having struggled through the crowds, sweated and done the back-breaking work of bringing those shopping bags home, it only felt right for a man of this advancing age to take a well-deserved dip in the pool before dinner...Tough life! Apartment hunting, a bit of shopping and cooling off in the pool...

Having spent a tiring and long day, I had the great idea to start writing a blog...which meant I was up until 02:00, and all that for you out there...all work and no play! But as with most men there was a hidden agenda. The husband was writing the blog next to the wife who was fast asleep, but he also knew that his first love would soon be around. Just another hour or so and he could yet again indulge in that obsession that has often caused conflict and confrontation, but has always brought joy and his love has not once wavered...

Watching Manchester United, this time beating Blackburn Rovers at 03:00 in the morning and only ending up hitting the sack at 05:00... Some say it is easy to be a football supporter but little do they know that people in Asia often struggle to follow their team and most men are more stressed during a match than they ever would be seeing you walking down the aisle (actually, we would probably be trying to remember which match would have been played or which goals would have been scored on the same day a year, 2, or 3 ago). So Ladies, next time your husbands wants to watch a match, don't hassle him or complain, show some compassion and bring him a beer... ;-)
