Day 9
Today would be the day that we would sort out the suits! It
had to be, it was our mission after all and the wife would be starting her new
job the very next day. Aim (?), set and match?! As a repeat of the day before, we
headed into town, a little later than the previous day, but this time WITH the
shoes and WITH a functional visa card. So we found the first tailor shop we
could and asked him to sort out a few things on Elli’s suits and pants… one
suit would be ready that day and this was a Sunday! Unheard of in
Europe… So with the suits in the safe hands of the tailor, we went for a
delicious ice cream…Banana, nuts, Daim and God knows what else in it…
dreamy…yep that Desperate Housewife, definitely is coming out in me…
So belly filled with sugar it was time for a bike ride down
the coast, but first we needed to take cover from the impending shower. Velocity, a mall close to the Novena MRT, would be our shelter and we comforted ourselves with a
little bit of shopping…God forbid we would go a day without buying something!
Shopping done and shower over, off to the East Coast we headed for a bike ride around the neighbourhood we would soon be living in. Just 15 minutes to the coast on foot, bike ride would be shorter...

A road sign that you find everywhere in Singapore... Hump Ahead... don't mind if I do! |

Our backyard...not too shabby |
|
Another activity by the beach, THE CAGE...awesome |
|
Yep BBQ pits on the beach...very cheap to rent and they are cleaned for you afterwards |
|
The connector next to our apartment, which leads to the MRT and the beach |
After a tiring afternoon on the bike, we picked up Elli's suit and headed home for a good night sleep, before Elli's first day at work. A good rest was needed.
